CERI will host the state seismic commission in the 3892 Seminar room on July 28 for a public meeting.  Yes…the commission still exists. For those who may not know, the WTSSC is appointed and funded by the TN Governor, Speaker of the House, and Senate Majority Leader with UoM/CERI as official fiduciary and administrator.  Thanks to Dr. Steve Horton for effectively serving on the commission as official seismologist and CERI representative. It was formed in 2006 and has supported many aspects of CERI public outreach and applied research, including students, faculty, staff, and instrumentation, but has been primarily focused on promoting the Great Central US Shakeout (shakeout.org).  Please help welcome this important group to our facility as it returns from a long COVID break from public meetings.
